I've been lurking here for about 1 month now, maybe longer.

I went through the Wilton courses about 8 children ago. My MIL wanted to pass on the cake decorating to someone in the family. I only went thru the first 2 courses. I haven't decorated much cakes until recently when we acquired a Sweet Art jet decorator. We are now turning a spot in our dairy barn into a commercial kitchen. It is amazing to see how things are all falling into place for this kitchen. My oldest daughter will be my sidekick in this adventure. I'm hoping to get the business started and be able to pass it on to her.

I've been gleaning alot of advice here and I appreciate all of you for posting the experiences. I love looking at the pictures of the cakes.

I hope to post a couple pic of recent cakes we have done. I have one cake due this Thurs for one of my son's birthday and my hubby's is next Tuesday.

DrTina, of the 10 children I have at least my oldest son & daughter interested. My oldest son and oldest daughter did cakes for their 4-H project a couple of years ago. They had such a hard time as it was 80º+ and major humidity that night they decided to decorate. I felt so bad as the frosting wasn't working well. I also have a set of twins icon_smile.gif So far most of them want to decorate but we haven't had much time lately as I'm watching a 7month old till this Friday. We've actually have had him most of this month so our time has been limited as to what we can play with. I'm hoping starting next month we will get more play time in the kitchen to try out different things.
