What Cake Flavor Would You Use?

I want to try a fresh strawberry filling (they are in season here now) and I'm trying to figure out what type of cake would taste best with strawberry filling and bc icing.
Yellow?
White?
Chocolate?
Other?
personally i like white cake with strawberry filling - but i suppose that is just a preference - i will eat anything with strawberry - LOVE IT! - good luck
French Vanilla or White
Mmmm, what's French Vanilla? Is that a scratch cake or a mix? I've never seen it if it's a mix, but then my store doesn't stock a whole lot of different flavors.
projectqueen - just curious, how are you going to make your strawberry filling?
Butternut, I'm still researching that part. Not quite sure what to do about all the liquid that comes out of fresh strawberries. Maybe cook them down with some sugar and then add some cornstarch to thicken?
I'll have to experiment, but it is prime strawberry season around here and I want to take advantage.

White cake with a strawberry white chocolate ganache is the best.... of those which I cooked. Everybody liked it best.
I like chocolate cake with chocolate chocolate icing. Then you take fresh strawberrys all chopped up and mixed in with freshly whipped whipcream. Yum Yum Yum. Of you can put chocolate ganache as the filling and then just cover the chocolate with slices of fresh strawberrys. I've done both. Excellent
I just finished making a cake with strawberry filling. I used the strawberry cream filling from this site. My cake was alternating yellow and chocolate layers. I have no idea how it will taste. Everything is an "experiment" still. My co-workers will let me know tomorrow!
