i only use shortening when i need really white buttercream other wise i use all butter. (tastes better).

i use one called Cream Cup, i brought a 15kilo slab and cut it up into 250g blocks and keep them in the freezer until i need it.

if you google Cream Cup in Australia only you will find some suppliers, otherwise i brought mine from Carolines sugar art in Adelaide..

their are others available at specialty cake suppliers.

I have googled cream cup I can't find it. I did find a place that you can order crisco the american stuff from but it ends up making icing a bit pricy - If you use all butter how do you keep your icing from getting too soft and melty - or maybe it is because I live in queensland

The site was www.usa.foods.com.au I think
