I have noticed that people have suggested using rice crispies to help their figurine making...as an Aussie, I'm not sure what is meant by that? I am envisioning a form made shape made from something similar to a chocolate crackle. I can't imagine otherwise how it is binded (?) together. I am also assuming rice crispies are like our rice bubbles. Or maybe I just have no clue!?!! icon_redface.gif
Can anyone shed some light on this for me?
TIA
Martine

Hi Martine,

Being an Aussie too I an understand your confusion...it took me a while to work this one out, even longer to work out about Crisco, and a few other products used in the recipes on CC!!!! lol icon_confused.gif

The website Kelly posted would have helped me a while ago!! I have also heard you can use almost any cereal in replace of the Rice Bubbles! One day I will get around to trying them!! icon_rolleyes.gificon_lol.gif

I have a laugh every time I think about my search for Crisco.....after hunting and hunting I found it in a sex shop in Kings Cross Syd. icon_eek.gif. I think it is sold for a whole different "cake" decorating!!! Then I was told to use Copha in my buttercream instead....OMG ... it was gross..... I now just substitute butter for Crisco. You can get Crisco alternatives in cake decorating shops they are either Solite or Cream Cup which are exactly the same as margarine, but completely white, and don't need to be refrigerated. They are creaming shortenings.

Hope this saves you some time in the future!!!! thumbs_up.gif
