I'm doing two large sheet cakes for an event tomorrow. I made a chocolate and a yellow. I want to do cakes that will be widely liked so nothing out of the ordinary. I'm definetly doing chocolate with chocolate filling, but I'm stuck on the yellow. Chocolate tastes great with yellow, but I don't want to do chocolate filling on both. Any suggestions for a great flavor to go with yellow cake that everyone will love???

Raspberry's very popular and goes well with yellow cake.

I would say raspberry or strawberry. I think the yellow cake with plain bc or lemon filling would not look very pretty when sliced.

What about that cookies and cream filling people rave about on this site? I have never tried it but it sounds good.

As tasty as strawberry or raspberry filling would be, you may want to stay away from them due to allergy concerns. However, raspberry sure is tasty! Of course, you could just do a pastry cream filling too.
