Hi All,
I am having trouble coming up with a name for my business (when I decide to open one still need lots of practice). Just a little background of where I live.
I live right by Baxter State Park in Maine ( Mt. Katahdin), we have a lot of hunting, fishing, white water rafting etc. around here.
I want a name to showcase our area but very unique - when looking on the internet I noticed a name of "Crumbs of Paris" which I really liked. I was thinking of something like "Crumbs of Mt. Katahdin" doesn't have to be the same as theres I just like that idea and need a spin on a unique name.
Any and all suggestions would be appreciated! Thanks in advance!
I like just "Crumbs", actually. It sounds cute, to the point... "I have to stop in at Crumbs to pick up a cake"...How does that sound? Think of all the places that have a one word name..."Want to go to Starbuck's for a coffee?" "I have to pick up a little something at Tiffany's" (There's a "Sprinkles" cupcake shop somewhere in the US - I love the fact that one word says it all). We're calling our cupcake shop "BabyCakes" Try saying different business names in a sentence, see how it rolls off your tongue - kind of like shouting a kid's name out loud, before you name a baby, to see how it will sound when you're yelling out the front door for them to come in for dinner, or when they've run away from you at the mall. Gwyneth Paltrow should have tried that, Frank Zappa, too. Can you imagine yelling out "AAAAAPLLLLLE" "DWEEEEEEEZILLLLLL" "MOOOOOON UUUUUUNIIIIIIIIT" at the grocery store?
Or, how about Crumbs Cakeshoppe - good alliteration.
I really like both of those ideas - Thank you so much!
Another name we were considering is Great Adventure Cake & Confections we are known up here for "The Great Outdoor Adventures".
Thanks again for the ideas at some point I will have to pick one but for now I'm going to keep my options open.
If I have my own Ckae Business.shop, I would name
it : OH WOW ! because that's what I hear everytime people see my cakes.
We have a local restaurant called...are you ready..."The Red Cat of Mulberry Street." Locals call it Red Cat. I love Crumbs of ________ (fill in the blank) and like a previous poster said...everyone will just call it Crumbs.
You all are great! My job is getting tougher though - I'll have to run them by my family to see what they think.
prettycake - I know why everyone says OH WOW - that was my exact response! Great name for beautiful cakes.
What is your background/nationality? It can be cute to look up different words in another language like sugar, cake, sweet, etc. My family is Swedish and when I start my business, I am going to call it "tarta cakes"(tarta is Swedish for cake). It was my Swedish grandmother who taught me how to bake! Even if you don't have any roots with the language, you can probably find some cool words. My advice though: as soon is you find a name you like, register a domain name before anyone else does! I did that just as a precautionary measure!
How 'bout "Adventures in Cake"
Or "Alice's Adventures in Cake"--Change the name, Do you have kids with A names? Seems like maybe you do by your user name.
You get to live in Maine and Bake and Decorate. You are blessed.
