Has anyone tried the Wilton sparkle dust? Is it pretty much the same as luster dust? I would like to try it, but hate to waste the money without knowing exactly what it does. It says in the directions to sprinkle it over your cake, or use it with stencils, but it doesn't say anything about mixing it with vanilla or alcohol and brushing it on. These are not the flakes I'm talking about, it's much finer like dust. Anybody tried this? Thanks!!

All it is is finely ground up cake sparkles--nothing more. Nothing like luster dust at all. But, it is edible since it is just the cake sparkles.

Not the same as luster at all. I bought it thinking I could use it like luster dust and had a big gloppy mess when I mixed it with alcohol.

Actually I just bought some the other day and what a wates of money--thank goodness it was half off. It says you can sprinkle it using a sifter--nope that doesn't work you just big clumps of color. Don't waste your money or time!!!
