I tried to copy the pic in here but its not working for some reason.
To Cambo and others that have sold your bouquets already...
I am in complete awe that you would start a new "design" and already have so many orders. How do you do it? Do you send in samples to places and then take orders off those?? Do you have websites that people are looking at??
Now for Mothers day orders on bouquets like these are people picking them up at your homes?? On Sat?? Sun??
Just wondering how you all do it. I am amazed. What great business women you are!!!!

lilsis-Exactly when is Teacher Appreciation Day ?
I think it would be great for that too.
Also are you all using the crusting bc from this site, or another icing ? I want to get started, but am trying to get everything straightened out.
Brightbrats~All week is really teacher appreciation week. Atleast around here. I am taking my son's teacher's in tomorrow. But I sent cookies and brownies into my husband's school yesterday.

twooten173, These are my main fillings: cheesecake, fudge, caramel, whipped icing, whipped ganache and pastry filling. Cheesecake is my most popular.
I've been following this thread and think this is AWESOME!!!
I too am wondering how you all went about selling them so quickly. Do you have a shop or did you email customers?
Also, this may hve been mentioned but what about using spray adhesive on the foam ball to keep the shred on and maybe give just a little added help keeing the cupcakes in place? Just a thougth, it may not work at all.
I'm gonna try these, heck I may even get some last minute orders for Mother's Day!
Cambo-great tutorial. Thanks so much fo rsharing this with all of us!
Just read the tutorial. Great job, Cambo! You should be a teacher. Very clear instructions and pictures.
I made one in a cute little container I found at Target for $1. Thanks for the great idea. The picture is in my photos.
I just delivered my first one and I simply glued the pot to a 10" cake board and wrapped it in a large cello bag (that I got from the Dollar Tree) I then put it into a small half box that the cake board fit into pretty well. When I got there I took it out of the box and everything was good. The bag never got on the icing.
I have noticed that there have been a couple of people that have asked about filled cupcakes and no one has answered. I would also like to know if anyone has tried the bouquet with filled cupcakes.....
I took a piece of floral wire and twisted it aroung a small dowel to make a curly thingy and put 2 of them in my bouquet to keep the plastic wrap off of the cc's. It worked pretty good and l thought it looked cute too. I didn't take a pic of it! ERRRRR!!!!
I noticed some people said their foam pieces were around .87...I went to Michaels today and Walmart and they were 3.49 and 2.88 for a 2pk...yikes...can I ask where ya'll found them so cheap?TIA
Mom23kids,
You can find the ones for .87 cents at Wal-mart. They are the green ones in the gift basket department. They are actually look like 1/2 sphere and are more like the florist foam. Hope that helps you out. :
I also wanted to add I tried some filled cupcakes today and it went great. I put 2 little squirts of filling on each side and made sure the skewer was in the middle. I didn't have any fall off at least not while it was in my hands !! I can't speak for after I left it at my friends shop !! LOL

I have a distribution list in my email and I simply created a flier right in the body of the email with pics of all the different designs! I worded it as a LAUNCH OF A WONDERFUL NEW CONFECTION.....CUPCAKES BOUQUETS....yada yada yada....then imported the pictures! Most of my emails are to former co-workers (from when I used to work FT) at several different employers (very large businesses), and of course, my current customers! Whenever you get an order from someone, GET THEIR EMAIL address! It's very simple for them to hit "forward" and send it to someone else...hence GROWING YOUR BUSINESS! I usually send a mass email around holidays or whenever I have something new to offer! It's worked wonderfully!

TO EVERYONE WATCHING/POSTING ON THIS THREAD....
Thank you so much for your wonderful comments about the tutorial! I'm so happy to share my technique with everyone! The thing I like most is that so many folks have tried them and put their own SPIN on them, and most importanty, SHARED their creations here.....they look fabulous!
Let's keep it going and keep on posting new pics!
Thank you, again!
Cammie
GEEZ....sorry to post so many messages back-to-back, but I keep thinking of things. I've been speaking with a contact regarding containers for the bouquets and one thing they made VERY clear is that any packaging other than a bakery box that's already FDA approved, should NOT come into contact with food items. They mentioned any kind of tote bags or cello bags (shring wrap, etc.) as examples. I'm not sure how much of a hazzard it is, BUT, they told me there's a chemical in the PVC cello (that's what they called it) that can make people sick if it comes into contact with the icing/cupcakes! YIKES!
Just wanted to give everyone a heads up! I'm going to take the risk with the bags because I have so many orders this weekend, but I'm seriously considering getting shipping boxes in the right size (placing a stabilizer of sorts in the bottom to keep the bouquet from moving around). I know, not pretty, but better safe than sorry....I don't have business insurance yet!
Mom23kids, I got my foam balls at Old Time Pottery, they are $1.79 for a two pack. They are full balls so I get 4 pots out of one pack (cutting them in half) That's only about $0.45 per pot.
Thank you everyone for your help and suggestions....I SO appreciate it. This site really is addicting. I keep checking this thread for new ideas. They are all so creative. You are all an inspiration to so many!
ok where is old time pottery at. i live in NJ and heard of that.
