I am making a cake for Saturday. I intend to bake it tonight and cover it in fondant (after cooling, and prepping). I intend to make some curved fondant decorations to stick on it using the pan as a mold (a ball pan), do I need to coat or line the metal with anything to prevent the fondant sticking as it dries? How long should I let them dry for before handling them again?
Also, will clear piping gel painted on to the fondant dry to a shiny finish?
Thanks for any help you can offer.

Hi ,
Good three days, and yes to coating the pan..I suggest , use pam OR crisco (light coating), then dust w/ cornstarch (lightly).
