I was planning to have a fondant diploma appear to be rolled up with just the end unraveled with the word 'DIPLOMA' showing. But am so impressed with photos I have seen here showing the whole diploma laid out and looking so very real inspires me to do the same.
I do not have my own printer for this but will trot off to Walmart and get them to print it for $5. Do I apply it straight on to my white fondant and any tips for making it look as incredible as the ones in the gallery?

I went to the gallery and was overwhelmed by the number of such cakes and the variety of techniques used. Why don't you link to the ones you are specifically wanting to emulate? Then people would know better how to respond to you.
