Ah ladies, Yesterday as I was strolling in Borders Book Store
I came across a book, 'the essential guide to cake decorating'.
It's put out by borders and only cost $9 here in NY. 304 pages of amazing
ideas and detailed how to pages. I spent a hour in a half in the cake
section and easily could of spent $150 on cake books. I have over
35 books and this one is my fave. Instead of buying thee other books
at full price, I went to amazon.com and found the books I wanted
much cheaper! Curious to know about you beautiful gals and guys favorite cake books. ![]()
American cake decorating magazine of course, but I always get the Wilton yearbooks.... I just love 'em
I love Toba Garrett's The Well Decorated Cake and Margaret Braun's Cakewalk. Both give good details and the cakes are fabulous.

I LOVE that book. I bought it, as well as a few others not cake related. You cannot beat the price! The only thing I find a little difficult is the naming of things, because I believe it's published in England or Canada, because of the measuring units and spells of words. But the pictures are awesome, the instructions.. I LOVE IT.
I also have the Whimsical Bakehouse, which I love a lot.
I was just looking through past threads about books, because I want to get a few more.
I LOVE Collette's Wedding Cakes book and Sweet Celebrations by Sylvia Weinstock (sp). I flip through my Wilton's wedding cake books a lot too, but those two inspire me the most.
Love the Cake Bible too, for baking, and I just read Baking at Home from the Culinary Institute of America over the weekend, to brush up on the "science" part of baking...
