Hello ladies, I just wanted to say hi and introduce myself. My name is Diana and I live in Okinawa, Japan. We are a military family.
I got started making cakes while living in Germany. We have horrible cakes at our commissaries and it was more out of desperation that I turned to making my own cakes. LOL. Once I got started, it was kind of like a snowball and just started making cakes for friends and then DH's squadron got wind of my cakes and started hiring me to make cakes.
I enjoy making cakes, just hate the clean up. LOL. It's really not about the money for me, I just enjoy the creativity. If I could just sit the cake in front of me and enjoy looking at it for a week or 2, it would be great. But as you all know, we have to let them go and let them be cut into and eaten. Gasp! I am way out of practice and am starting to make cakes again. I have a baby shower cake to make next week.
I just found this awesome website the other day and have been browsing the gallery. Holy cow! You guys blow me away. I doubt I will ever get as talented as you all are, but I will enjoy the practice.
