I would like to make a baby shower cake with 2" by 2" baby blocks on the top. Since I will have to make the blocks from a larger cake. How can I stop cake crumbles from getting all over my icing ?

Qtums, I did this cake as one of my first ones and it was a nightmare. I learned LOTS from that cake, though. Before you cut the cakes out, be sure to put the cake into the freezer for about an hour or so, just long enough for it to get firm. It will make the cutting MUCH easier and you won't get as many crumbs. The next thing is to go to Hobby Lobby, Michaels, etc. and get you an icing tip. These will make your life soooo much easier. You can just run the icing tip around your blocks, smooth them either via Melvira's method or Viva (Mel's method just happens to be my fave!!) and they should come out great! HTH! Good luck!
