Just wanted to share my first blue ribbon with CC! My cake entry was an idea that was inspired by many fabulous cake artists that so kindly share their creations with everyone! Thanks to you all!

I received the blue ribbon for the beginner division
Cake info:
Vanilla cake with chocolate ganache, fondant covered, gumpaste tissue and lid.
Shoe: Fondant with Gum Trag. Molded from patterns provided in Kerry Vincent's book "Romantic Wedding Cakes". Used a texture mat to imprint with snakeskin pattern, then painted with petal and luster dusts.
Cake board made by my DH, with dupioni silk and edged with satin ribbon.

Believe it or not, I didn't even have time to have a second go around. These are my first tries at both the gumpaste lid and shoe. I ran out of time to make another shoe and lid. I was fortunate that things went my way I actually had to modify the template a little to fit the shoe sole properly
