Hi all...I want to try practicing with fondant because it looks fun and makes decorating more versatile icon_smile.gif. I'm going to make MMF for the first time to cover a wilton-contour-pan cake tonight (8")...I've downloaded and printed the tutorial from this site with pictures...wish me luck icon_smile.gif.

my question is: can I make a simple 2 layer cake mix or does it need to be of a more pound-cakey consistency to hold up the fondant?

Thanks for any help, hints or tips!!

Your "regular" cake will work just fine.

Success!!! Posted the pic in my photos...didn't color it or anything fancy...just tried to play a little with it to see how to get the hang of it. I really think this is the way of the future for me...so much fun....and so many ways to decorate it!!
