When applying mmf details to a cake, what is the best method for removing the confectioners sugar residue? I have used a damp finger tip with water but that often leaves the fondant sticky. I know there is a simple trick that I just don't know, please enlighten me with your expertise!
Thanks!

I take a big round soft bristled brush and use soft, light strokes.

I've never used MMF, but I assume it works just like regular fondant.

Rub the area with your finger until the powder disappears. The heat from your finger should 'dissolve' the sugar.

You can also take a small piece of same-colored fondant and rub the powdery area with that.

When I want to get rid of powder sugar I just rub the cake with my palm until it disappears. I call it buffing the cake.
