Edited to say I can make a killer pie filling and I can make cookies. But....
I can't make a pie crust if my life depended on it and when I try to decorate cookies it looks like a toddler did it.LOL.
But give me a cake any time.

LOL, I was wondering were everyone went. Some on strike, some out of cookie ideas or spring fever has taken them competely away and ohhhh love pies. Need a no fail pie recipe.

I'm pretty "good" (for lack of a better word) at this, I used to do it alot at work and crack up my coworkers. Did Abba's Dancing Queen changed to Texting Queen for a friend of mine awhile ago who never is without her cell. Sadly, it comes to me rather quickly!

but seriously, I use this recipe for all my pie crusts, prebaked or not. never failed on me.

makes 2 pie crusts

2 cups all purpose flour
1 teaspoon salt
2/3 cups plus 2 tablespoons shortening
4 to 6 tablespoons ice cold water

mix flour & salt together with fork, cut in shortening, use fork to stir in water to form a ball. roll out on floured surface.

Key is ICE cold water, I use a martini mixer to get ice cold water.

Just to make ME feel better after my daughters comment on this "geezer" was actually late, late 70's. Okay, that didn't work either.... still pulling off cobwebs and kicking dust bunnies.
