I have a quick question about rolling out fondant? I've just rolled out red fondant to make a multi color fondant bow for the top of my son's birthday cake. I used powdered sugar to keep it from sticking, and thought it would soak into the fondant as it drys. However, the fondant is not as bright and has places where the powdered sugar shows. Any suggestions on how to keep this from happening, and how to fix the loops that I already made?

I always use shortening on a rolling mat so this won't happen.

For the finished loops, you could try a couple of things. Using a SCRAP, try brushing on color, or warming it slightly, You could also dust all the loops with lustre dust.

good luck.

Brush over the marks with a damp brush. That should do it. thumbs_up.gif
