Thanks to all with suggestions on baking with the wonder mold. It went much better this time. My sister wanted chocolate icing, so I was limited as far as the background color. Hope my niece likes it! Thanks to the inspiring photos I saw in the gallery and to the person I pm'd for questions on her mermaid cake. Sorry I can't remember your username, but I will go back and find it!

Thanks! The tails are made of MMF, I was pretty worried about doing it b/c I've only made a dog bone with it before! I took tip #81 and pressed it into the fondant to make the scales look. Then I used a butter knife on the fins at the bottom.

I plan on doing a similar cake for my daughters 5th birthday. Thanks for the inspiration! I hope mine turns out as well. Did the fondant get hard or stay pliable? This will be my first time using it.
