My sister wants me to make a cake for her husband. Party wasn't supposed to be for 2 weeks but she just moved it to Friday! Ahhhhh! He does excavating work and he is an avid Hunter and Fisherman. I would like to combine one of those with the fact that he's going to be 30. I'm completely out of ideas. Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks in advance!

Maybe an excavator by a pond fishing...with a excavation bucket full of fish and you could say..."over the hill fishing rod...when your arms are just to old to cast anymore"

Does he bow hunt? How about a target (like a dart board kinda) with an arrow hitting the "bulls eye". You could mark the bulls eye "30".

I made a 30 year cake for my brother in law who is a hunter last year but I used an edible image for it ~ oh ~ that gives me an idea though - i used the "you can run but you can't hide" ~ you can put a deer in the scope peaking out from behind a tree or something with that caption on it.

Hope this helps!

OK ladies, lets test our memories. Didn't someone post a picture of a truck being driven by a deer with a human tied to the top??? It was really a cute idea.

You could also do a 3D fish cake like the one in Colette's Cakes. It's an easy cake to do and the end result is fabulous! I can't tell you how many compliments I got on it!. icon_biggrin.gif

I have been waiting for an order I placed with american cake decorating MBN. The deer head that is posted here made me order it. I wish I had it I would have scanned that part for you.. who knows maybe it will get here soon, and if its not too late then you can use it...

Thank you all so much for the ideas! I haven't been able to post until now. My sister saw the cake from the wilton site with the guy trying to climb out of the grave (a couple of these cakes are posted on this site too). She loved it, so that's what I'm doing. I think I'm going to put a little excavator next to the hole though, so it looks like that's what dug the hole icon_smile.gif I will post a pic when I'm done. Thanks again for all the great ideas!!

I LOVE THIS IDEA GOTCAKE. THAT WOULD BE PERFECT IF IT WAS I DOING THE CAKE. I DIDN'T THINK OF THAT.
