I have that pan myself, absolutely love it! The only suggestion I could give you though is soften your icecream first and place the dome cake back into the pan for support as you fill so it doesn't crack. Then add bottom cake and refreeze to harden icecream. Should be able to decorate like any other icecream cake after that. Hope that helps and good luck!

Great idea for your cake. The only trouble I have found with icecream cakes is that the cake will freeze as well as the ice cream and people have to eat the actual cake while frozen. You can let it sit out for a while, but you can't let it defrost completely. HTH

can anyone tell me what kind of icing to use for decorating a bake & fill cake when filling with ice cream? I was thinking of using FVBC but since it's supposed to be served at room temp I don't think I'd be able to - the ice cream would melt in the time it takes for the BC to come to room temp wouldn't it?
Do I have to stick with regular Wilton style BC on an ice cream cake?
