I need to create at least a 6"+ high square cake as base for a wedding sandcastle.
I have a 14"x3" pan. Can I stack these without anything in between or do I need boards and/or dowels in between because of the weight? Do I stack them frozen so the cake doesn't break in half when putting it on top? HELP!
Can anyone with experience in large tier cakes give me suggestions.
Thanks in advance!

Rule I go by: If it will be over 4" then it gets an extra board with supporting dowels in the middle.

If you look at the transformer cake in my photos it was a total of 4 - 2" layers. Haveway through the cake I have a board with dowels going through the bottom two layers. I stacked like this then i decorated as one cake. I don't want to take the risk on something like this.
