Has anyone ever made the Almond Wedding recipe from ladycakes.com?

I made it once before and I'm making it again for a wedding tomorrow. I don't taste as much almond in the cake as I did when I first made it. The recipe calls for 1/2 can of solo almond paste and 1 cup of water. Is it because I used milk instead of water this time?

I think the water brought out the almond taste last time. What do you think?

It's possible, if you want more of an almond taste, add some almond flavoring in it, or you could also add some Amaretto (made with almonds).

Thanks for that answer mouse. However, I had already finished baking all the cakes yesterday and decided to add a little almond flavor to my icing to bring out the flavor in the cake. I hope it helps.

It seems like it did. I got a chance to taste a piece since I had to use the cake corer to place a hole in the center of the cake for the tall tier cake stand.

Anyway, I hope it turns out o.k. for everyone else.
