A child in my son's preschool class has asked the teachers if "they can all make a Zanzibar cake". The teachers turned to me! I can't find a Zanzibar cake on the internet. I'm beginning to think there is no such thing. Anyone have any idea??
Preschoolers are funny.....probably misprounouncing it in some way.....can she call the mom and ask her?
Also....where is he from? Zanzibar is an island off the coast of Africa...maybe it's some sort of tradition.
I did a Zanzibar cake-but it is nothing a pre-schooler would want --unless, mine was for a baby shower, maybe they attended a baby shower with that theme and liked the cake. Zanzibar is a kind of theme for a nursery sold by babysrus right now. It is pretty popular and very cute for a jungle theme nursery. There are pictures of it along side of the pictures of the cake I did in my photos, but again I can't believe a pre-schooler would want to make one. Check with the mom and let us know.
I found this recipe at
zanzibar.org/emersons/site/cuisine.rec.html
I typed in zanzibar cake recipe under google and this is what came up.
