My father belongs to a local singles group that meets for mothly meetings. He has suggested that at one of the upcoming meetings I conduct a cake tasting to help generate some business. The group would be able to pay me to cover my expenses.

I am excited about this idea but at a loss for how to do this for about 50 people. Your suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Make a bunch of 6-8 inch cakes with various flavors and fillings...I wouldn't even worry about decorating them, maybe just nice smooth pretty buttercream and some edging. (if its just a tasting) I would think cupcakes too, but you can't show off the fillings!!

i would definitely go with cupcakes - that way you can have multiple cake flavorings and icing flavorings and it goes a long way without as much work!
good luck
