I think you might be looking for wafer paper. www.kopykake.com and www.sugarcraft.com both carry it. You can purchase it in smaller amounts at sugarcraft though. They also sell it in a wide range of colors.

You're welcome. There is such a thing as rice paper too but I think wafer paper is used more often. Both are edible.
The rice paper I saw at Michael's was in the art and drawing section. It didn't seem like it was edible so I didn't buy it.
