Just a little FYI:
Anyone who has Netflix - there are 2 DVDs in the food/wine area that are instructional for gumpaste flowers -
"Sugar Flower Art: Vol 1 and Vol 2"
They are actually very nice! I'm not sure who puts it out but as a beginner - they were helpful.
ENJOY!!
Just looked at blockbuster by mail site. They have them too. I am so excited. I have searched for cake but never for gumpaste. Thanks for the tip.
Thanks for the info. They also have Martha Stewart baking which I just put in my queue. I love Netlix.
They're going to really wonder why there's a sudden run on gumpaste flowers videos! Maybe they'll get some more.
I have these two dvds and they are pretty good. the woman who is instructing takes her time and explains every step. Her flowers are pretty but not quite as real looking as some I've seen.
I watched the first one last night.... the instructions are very detailed. Her voice is slightly annoying though LOL
my husband told me about Netflix...and he thought he would get movies....hahahaha. I will check it out...thanks!

Video 1 is called Sugar Flower Art A Beginner's Introduction Volume 1

Video 2 Sugar Flower Art Advanced Techniques Volume 2 with Kaye Unisa
You can do a serach on the internet. Some places sell them for a pretty good price.
Sounds interesting, I will definitely look into this for I am curious about gumpaste flowers...they look so beautiful yet so easy to make. Thanks for the tip!
Thanks for the list of flowers Bostonterrierlady.
I asked my local Barnes & Noble to order both volumes.
But, is it worth buying?
Anyone made any flowers from the DVD? Do you have pics in your photos?
sweetbaker... I've used the videos as references frequently. I'm more of a visual learner, so if I can watch something being done it works much better for me than just reading about it. And who can afford the expense of a lot of classes. I'm making a wedding cake for May 5th with sweet pea sprays and have already reviewed the DVD as it's been eons since I last made a sweet pea. So for me it's worth the cost. Definitely cheaper than taking a gumpaste flower class
Thanks for the additional feedback Khoudek. I'm a visual learner too and this would be alot cheaper than taking a class plus you can watch it over and over again...a money saver!
