I really can't answer that question, but I have used Duncan Hines butter cake recipe and added cream cheese, and it has made a very moist dense pound cake.

I know on the side od DH yellow cake mix, it gives a recipe to make a pound cake with that mix. It is:
1 pkg DH Classic Yellow
1 pkg (4 serving size) vanilla instant pudding
4 large eggs
1 cup water
1/3 cup vegetable oil

Preheat oven to 350. Combine all ingredients and mix for 2 minutes. Bake for 50 - 60 minutes. Cool in pan for 25 minutes.

I don't see a reason why you couldn't convert that for other mixes.

Double the eggs and add a box of instant pudding to the mix (not the milk). Lower your cooking temp by 25 and cook 10-15 minutes longer.
gets raves every time.
