OK so this may be a really stupid question but when piping a lot of the time whenI have a lot to pipe, my hands get warm and it warms the buttercream and gets too soft to hold its shape. How can I prevent this? What do you guys do?

Well, I have read a few things that member do on this forum=) Some say they wear gloves to prevent the heat getting to the bag. Others have mentioned having a bowl of ice water near to keep dipping their hands in it, to keep their hands cool. And another option I read is that people with hot hands have 2 bags with the icing in it. That way they can put on in the fridge and when the one they are working with starts melting, they put that bag in the fridge and take the new on out to work with=) HTH some, Jen

Use very small amount of icing in a small bag. Refresh your icing often. When I do cakes with lots of tiny-tip piping, like cornelli lace, this is what I do. icon_smile.gif

I use the two bag method...one in the fridge-one in my hot little hands icon_wink.gif
