This is one of the best icing recipes I have ever tried. It goes great with the Chocolate Layer Cake Recipe that was submitted by tripletmom. I'll post the link to that one also. The combination of these two recipes are fabulous!!! I've already had numerous people ask for this combo as their Cake Order icon_smile.gif

Enjoy!!!

Thanks Stephanie! You should give it a try and let me know how you like it. I have to make two of these cakes today for a customer and I have four of the Heart cakes in the freezer for someone else. It's been keeping me busy!! LOL But I really want to do a cake that isn't BROWN!!! LOL All my cakes tend to be brown.
Maybe a nice lemon cake icon_smile.gif I'll have to look for a Fabulous one icon_biggrin.gif

Susan,

That is the best chocolate cake recipe. It stays moist for days. It's the only one I use. Plus, it makes a generous amount of batter.

I will try the bitter sweet chocolate icing recipe but wanted to ask how easy is it to spread smooth. I use the viva towel method and this doesn't look like a icing that you could stick a paper towel to.

Thanks

It spreads very smooth with little effort. Look at my pics and take notice of the dark chocolate cake. The top of that cake is soooooo smooth!
I know you will love it icon_smile.gif

I'll post the pic

Wow. That is awsome. Can't wait to try it. You can also use it for piping?

Yes you can pipe with it. I must mention that I couldn't wait for it to thicken to the consistency that I wanted so I added about a cup or so of Powdered sugar. It worked great. But if you have enough patience you could probably get by without doing this. icon_smile.gif

Thanks for the recipe. My chocolate cake comes out very dry. Because of this I won't make them. This recipe sounds great. icon_biggrin.gif

You made me blush! I wouldn't know half of what I know now if it had not been for all those questions I had answered for me by all the wonderful people here on CC. Thanks for remembering me when I was a baby Cake Decorator. I think I am now like a preteen Cake Decorator! LOL
