I just submitted my sons TEXAS cake.. I could not for the life of me leave it alone!! It did NOT come out the way I visioned it.. I have wanted to do this TEXAS cake for a long time.. My son just turned 16 and I could not serve this cake to all his friends he invited JUST to see his cake.. OMG I really, really, really like the after cake.. WHEW I feel better!
I stuck the first one in the freezer, then scraped off the lettering and the egdes and add Buttercream...
Now I can go do what I have to do.. This cake was driving me CRAZY!!!

Wowwhat a difference. How did you get it so smooth did you use the viva method or what?

Great job thumbs_up.gifthumbs_up.gif

Wow that is a big difference. So did you just smooth the cream cheese icing once it was frozen? A friend of mine used a cream cheese icing recipe that called for a little shortening and she says it piped and smoothed wonderfully

Yes I did the buttercream over the cream cheese while it was frozen.. And that made it smooth soooooo much easier.. (when it's froze) no viva, just hmmm.. I don't know.. It was just my day today! LOL AFTER I re0iced it!

Sometimes being determined pays off! The first one was good...the second one is great, good work!

Honestly I like them both. The first one, I thought it was a design and you did it as "effects on cake". Your cake looks yummy icon_smile.gif
