I am trying to figure out the best way to ship a cake without damaging the cake. I am looking for something cost wise that is not totally unreasonable. The cakes that I plan on shipping will be anywhere from $25 - $100. I don't know if any of you guys do any shipping or not, but any imput would be greatly appreciated.
I want to know the same..! I tried to call ups the other day but could talk to a person!! please post when you find out! If you ship do they have to be covered in fondant? Good luck!
very few cakes will survive shipping. Undecorated cakes, like pound cakes can be packaged in tins and easily shipped.
However, decorated cakes would not make it. The shipper cannot guarantee that the package will be stable and not tipped or turned on the side.
The big time decorators (Syliva Weinstock) travel on the plane when she ships a cake. The buyer pays for the plane ticket in addition to the cake.
