Ok in no way is this directed at ANYONE on here. I just want to say something so everyone knows.
But did you guys know that if you Google your business name or your screen name. That CC comes up with the posts you've made.
I'm just stating this as a warning. If you do alot of your business advertising via internet and your screen name or website address is in your siggy, and it is connected to your business. A bride can google your business name and posts will come up with your website.
For example if I'm trash talking another bakery, or complaining about a bride (this was only a thought after seeing how many pages the last thread about the "cheap" bride went) that bride *could* read everything you've said.
Just 2cents! Some of you might not have thought of this. And if would suck if you lost business because a bride saw your name and your *vents*.
I totally thought that things I said were *private* but they are not. I googled myself and was quite surprised to what came. up.

I found something else that's interesting: other people who use the same name on myspace or whatever. Makes me want to change my name! But it's a combination of my daughters' names and I hoped to use it in my own business some day.

Wo-o-o-ow... I just tried SophieBelle cake and all my recent posts came up. So if I ever used that name for my business and someone googled me to try to find my contact info or whatever, my forum post links would come up!!!
I know that's not the case with all internet forums, but most.

I actually found a sophiebelle on another food site! and it's not me.
only happens if your number is listed. I tried this with some unlisted numbers and nothing happened.

yes, i googled my name a few days ago and found out the same thing. that really sucks too. i use my business name for my screen name. thinking back, i don't think i've slammed anyone(i hope not), but i have given out several tips and what not. I have also been on several times discussing being lisenced or not. i was shocked to see some of the posts that came up. i should have thought to post this too. thank you creativecakesbylindsay!!. i also wonder if there is something they can do from cc to keep what goes on in cc here in cc!?!

How dependant our society has gotten on technology and computers and nowadays, you can pull up almost any kind of info on someone...
This certainly is good information to have. I'm actually surprised that any forum posts on any topics are accessible. I suppose it's best to be careful not to use your actual name on forums until they figure out a way to block the posts.

I just tried this and sure enough there I am, which is bad enough, but there is actually a porn site using my sign on name!

Only one person knows about cake central that I know and she knows my screen name she is a close friend and besides her I chose not to mention cake central to anyone or my screenname I also don't state where I live in my profile information I made that mistake once with a friend I told her my ebay name and she started asking question about stuff I was selling!!!
I just wished I didn't say anything towards anyone, my email is the same as my screenname but I hope it doesn't show on my profile either 
I am not about to give my few customers my secrets if they only knew all the things I have learned here!
Yikes I just googled myself and found my profile, posts, etc., and I made sure to log off of cake central before doing my google search. And still everyone could see my profile, read my posts, see my galleries, etc. The only thing that couldn't be done was opening the larger pictures by double clicking on the thumbnails. Thanks for sharing this information, now I know!
I guess the thing to do, if you don't want anyone reading your posts, is to pick a screen name that is not the same as your business name...one that no one would know but you. Stinks if you really want to use your business name, but that's the way around it. Also, people cannot see your pics unless they have a Cake Central acct.

Not a big deal for me....it's not my business name....I can't see why anyone would search for Adven68....if so, it wouldn't concern me....but thanks for the info...I will keep it in mind in the future if I ever consider using my business name.
