Something lacey and doilie looking comes to mind...check out the gallery as there are some pretty special cakes you could glean some ideas from. Like the heart shape with cornelli lace and the rose on top, ruffly bottom border. I don't recall right off hand the decorater, but something like that might work.
Post a picture when you have it finished so we can see what you came up with!

Mrs. dawn..I had saved this picture. I don't remember if it came from this site or not. I hope whoever did it will forgive me for not giving them the proper credit. icon_redface.gif But it's very nice.

What does your grandmother like to do?

My mother turns 80 on Feb 1. I am in the process of trying to design her cake. She really likes to garden and has a wonderful green thumb. I am thinking something with a picket fence, flowers, butterflies, gardening tools, trees etc.

Does anyone know how to make trees? Most I have seen are done with ice cream cones and I am not looking for that kind of thing.
