I have never made peanut butter frosting and a little boy would like this on his cake. Can I just add peanut butter to my regular buttercream frosting? I have the receipe on CC but I didn't know if any of you had any different ones.
Thanks
Faye
That's what we do at the bakery where I work. Don't really have any measurements, though. We just kinda eyeball it and of course go by taste K'ly
In one of the American Cakes issues there is a really good peanut butter cream cheese icing recipe. They used it as a filling and iced with a chocolate icing. It's really good. Can't look it up for you right now - got to get the kids on the bus. But, it you want it I'll look for it later this morning. Let me know.
I just add peanut butter to the regular buttercream. Be sure to add a little extra salt. It makes the flavor POP.
I love this recipe. I used it for filling a chocolate cake and it is delicious, have not tried icing an entire cake with it but am sure it would work well. You will need to double the recipe though.

Here's the Peanut Butter Cream Cheese Frosting recipe:
1/2 c creamy peanut butter
1/4 c whipping (heavy) cream
1 t vanilla
1 package (8 oz) cream cheese, softened
4 c powdered sugar
Beat peanut butter, whipping cream, vanilla and cream cheese in medium bowl on medium speed until the mixture is fluffy. Gradually beat in powdered sugar on low speed until smooth.
Chocolate Mocha Cream Cheese Icing
1/2 c butter or margarine, softened
1/4 c whipping (heavy) cream
1 tablespoon coffee-flavored liqueur, coffee, or water
1 package (8 oz) cream cheese, softened
1/2 c baking cocoa
1 tablespoon instant coffee (dry), if desired
3 1/2 cups powdered sugar
Beat butter, whipping cream, liqueur, and cream cheese in medium bowl on medium speed until the mixture is fluffy. Gradually beat in cocoa, coffee, and powdered sugar on low speed until smooth.
Sorry it too so long to get this to you but I had a difficult time finding the recipe.
