I will be making cookies for my grand daughters birthday party, I order LorAnn Cotton Candy Flavoring and on the invoice it saids ( Not for use with chocolate or coatings ). My question is....can this be use to flavor icings, that was the reason I got it, to flavor the icing I'll be putting on the cookies.

Sorry if this sounds stupit, but I am new to this.
Thanks!

I don't have the answer to your question but don't feel stupid. I'm new to this web site and if there is one thing I have learned so far it is that there is no such thing as a stupid question. I hope you get the answer you are looking for!!

What kind of frosting are you going to use on the cookies? I know that you can put these oils in BC and rolled buttercream, now that I think about it, you can use it in MMF too. Now fondant, I don't know. I'd think so since you can use it in MMF, but I'm not sure, hopefully someone else will come along w/ the answer. HTH somewhat.

the only reason I think it would say that is if it was a water-based flavoring. You can't put those in chocolate or candy coatings like candy melts b/c it will make them seize...

I thought Lorann flavorings were OILS, though, and safe for chocolates. You will be fine with frosting or MMF...

I just made some white chocolate favors in the molds and added the cinnamon flavor to it, it did fine, I just used 1/2 bag of wilton white melts and a couple of drops of flavoring, it did not seize up.

Not all of LorAnn Flavorings are oils. If you go to their site you will see that a lot of their flavorings are oil based so you can add them to chocolate, however there are some that are not.
