I need some help on some ideas for a cake. My husband is a manager at a collection agency, and his team is doing awesome this month and I wanted to send him in a cake for his collectors at the end of the month. Any ideas on a neat idea. I just mentioned it this morning to him so we only thought about making a dollar sign. But I am trying to think of something more creative!

Thanks for the help!!!

Do you airbrush? I've seen cool cakes done to look like a check or a dollar bill. Those cakes were rectangular, so no carving was involved either. Airbrushing is one way to accomplish this, but you can also do this by piping.

I used to be a collector for a large company for 4 years. That's really nice of your husband. I wish our manager appreciated our team like that.

How about a bag of money with coins and dollar bills sticking out of the bag.

You could pipe/mold little people/animals holding a bill (white gumpaste/fondant square) all around the cake...or as a topper. Then pipe a message on the cake...."Final Notice, Past Due, Great Job, or the name/logo of your DH company. thumbs_up.gif
Whatever you decide, make sure you post pictures!!! icon_biggrin.gif

I have never airbrushed, but would like to someday. Thanks sugarfancy my husband has been a collector for going on 7 yeats now. He has had managers that didn't do much for them either. So he is trying to be different! Whenever I send in a cake they devour it, so maybe this will give them all incentive to hit their goals!!! I love the idea about the bag, I will have to try that, and run it by him too! He likes helping me with the fondant so I can leave that up to him!!! Thanks!

How about a man sitting in a "cubby"(isn't that were most collectors work?) with a pile of cash on his desk? Showing he collected all that money? Then you could do the $ around the cake edge? Jen

Oh I think a money bag would look awesome....they sell chocolate coins at WalMart in the bulk candy section....those would look super on top!

The bag of money would be really cool. You could use one of the wonder mold pans and then wrap it in fondant to be gathered at the top with a string around it, a dollar bill sign on the side and the chocolate coins along the edge and spilling out of the top.

Where does he work... I'm in the area and used to work at one... (LHR) You could put a dollar bill on the top, with their team goal written out with $ signs all over it... Just an idea...

I just did a check cake last weekend. The picture is in my photos if you want to check it out. It was fun and easy, and might be inspiring if nothing else. icon_smile.gif Good luck!

what about a sheet cake the looks like a one of those big graph charts w/ the red arrow going up and up and finally, thanks to some gumpaste, fondant or cardboard, right off the cake?

a lil morbid but here's one...a head with dollar bills coming out of it...that would be cool...and the eyes have dollar signs...

A 3-demensional pair of pants with the pockets turned out, showing there is nothing left in them.
