Anyone Made The Southern Heirloom Cake

I got the recipe from this board. Directions say to cream butter & sugar until it looks like mayo. How long does this usually take? I've been mixing a long time & the sugar is still grainey. Also, do you really fold in the rest of the ing by hand? Thanks.

Jan - thanks for posting this recipe it sounds wonderful. I think I'll make it this weekend. What do you frost it with (can't remember if there is an icing in the recipe or not)?

I think your favorite chocolate or white b/c would be fine.

(I have so many recipes, I'm always trying a new one icon_smile.gif )

To make it really special, you could try ShirleyW's
