I am very new at decorating. I started at the end of September. This past weekend I made 2 cakes for my sister's rehearsal dinner and a groom's cake. Neither cake is crucial so if they were horrible it wouldn't make or break the weekend. After the rehearsal dinner, I got 5 orders. I am learning and doing this for fun and do not take orders. I just thought that was such a boost to my ego. It makes me feel like the work that I'm putting into this is paying off. It just feels good. Thanks to all the great advice I've read here. Just wanted to share. amy
See, now that pretty cool huh??? It does make you feel tall and proud and it should! Congratulations!
Amy
Keep doing what you are doing. Your cakes are wonderful and I would've never thought you have only been doing this since September. I take orders but EVERY cake is a learning experience for me. I learn something new with each one. Keep up the good work!
Amy, your cakes are great !! I didn't originally take orders till i got tired of people asking and being dissapointed. I don't do a lot, but i finally started taking orders !! good luck to you
I did say no. Maybe one day, but for now it's fun to learn without the pressure. Once I get more skills under my belt perhaps I'll dip my toe into the paying field. amy
Well...it is best not to put pressure on yourself. I think your cakes look great...I can definitely see why you got 5 orders! You should keep doing it for fun until you are ready.
