Hi everyone,
My sister will be having her first baby this spring and one of my parts in putting the baby shower together for her is to make the cake(s). The "theme" is going to be baby booties and the idea is for me to make individual cakes shaped like baby booties and a sheet cake on the side just in case we get last minute extra people or they want seconds. I've seen these cakes done once before but I'm unsure of how they are made. I'm asking you all if you could give your ideas on how to make them and pictures would be helpful. I know that you can also make them from fondant (thank you cali4dawn for your tutoral) but our first idea is to make individual cakes. I might make the fondant booties for the sheet cake. Anyways please help me. I have about a month and a half to get the best plans. Thank you all.

i belive you can make them out of the egg pan (use the small one) with a large marshmellow on top.
You can also, use the egg pan to make baby carriages, you use one and 1/2 eggs to make the carriage and use the large lifesavers for the wheels.
Here's a way to make them out of cupcakes...

I have made the booties out of the mini-egg pan numerous times-they are quite fun and quick! After you bake and cool them-just ice them in whatever pattern you want (I did stars #16) then go back over them on the end you want to build for the bottie sockpart-I used #21 and did a circle pattern up about 4 rows to make that part-then used tip #4 to make the laces-I can email you a picture if you want to pm me with your email address.
Thank you peg, lisa and nanni. You don't know how excited I am to start this new project. All your ideas are great. I am very thankful. Thank you for helping me and I wish you success in all you do.
