Im wondering what brand of fillings everyone uses.
or do you make all of your fillings?

I want to offer a custard filling similar to that yellow pudding stuff in donuts.

i cant use anything that requires refrigeration (because of licensing requirements).

what type of fruit or creme fillings do you use??????

For my bavarian creme filling, I use the stuff that comes in a sleeve. It is shelf stable without refrigeration. The sleeve doesn't have a manufacturer's name on it, and I just threw away the box, doh! I buy it from a local food distributor though, and it's a common item so if you have a distributor nearby they should be able to hook you up.

For my fruit fillings, a few I use Solo brand, and my strawberry is my own recipe. I've also used fruit preserves on occasion. HTH!

You can try the pie fillings from the grocery store. My favorite is Wilderness Lemon pie filling. I usually use the filling in the sleeves, too.

I use doctored cake mixes, but I make my own fillings.

I like raspberry, lemon, chocolate ganache, chocolate mint

I use Henry & Henry fillings. You can get them in sleeve form or in a bucket. I buy them from Perkins, my bulk product supplier. I use bavarian cream, lemon, raspberry, strawberry and I'm thinking of trying their apricot.

I googled the henry and henry website, they don't have prices. How much are you paying for the fillings?

I tried faxing Henry & Henry to see if they would send to me directly and cut out the "middle man", but I didn't get a response. They must only deal with distributors. As I said my distributor is Perkins, their website is: www.perkins1.com They have a section where you can type in your zip code to see if they deliver to your state and area. If they do, expect them to come in an 18 wheeler! So hopefully your street can accomodate that. Also, the minimum order is $250, or they charge a $15 or 20 delivery charge. If you like bulk products, then you shouldn't have a problem meeting the minimum. They sell everything!
Anyway, as to your question on how much money the H&H fillings are. They vary with the flavors, but for instance, I pay 15.79 for a case of 12 sleeves of bavarian creme filling. That breaks down to $1.32 per sleeve.
I hope this helps!

I'm sorry, this may be a newbie question, but what do you mean by 'sleeves'? icon_redface.gif

It's a plastic tube like package. you can snip the end off and squeeze it out.

The filling comes in plastic "sleeve" form....like a bag. You just cut it open.

Being in PA. you may live near a bulk food store, you can find the sleeve fillings there. There is a small bulk food store in town where I live, they now have these. I use to have to travel 2 hours to Holmes County, Ohio's Amish Country to get most of the bulk items I like. I still make the trip there if for no other reason than the Amish rolled butter. By the way, the cream cheese filling in the sleeve is top notch, and does not require refrigeration.
