White Chocolate And Roses Wedding Cake

White Chocolate And Roses Wedding Cake on Cake Central

The final wedding cake is the one on the right. The one on the left is the one I liked, but the right is the bride's choice. It has chocolate cilinders and gumpaste roses and butterflies. The original design came from a cake I did last year, for an engagement, the original had gerberas and was only one tier. There is a banner on top of the cake saying "Congratulations on your wedding day, Vanessa & Kai, 19th August 2006". It took me a LOT longer than i had expected. The bride hugged me when she saw it.

getfrosted, there is no buttercream on this cake, the cakes were covered in fondX first then the cilinders were stuck to the fondant with melted chocolate.

merissa, on the original cake i made them using a knife scraped against the chocolate, i couldnt get it to work this time, so i had to come up with an alternative, and did them with small pieces of acetate. Put the melted choc on them, folded them into a cilinder, stuck them with tape, and put them in the freezer to set. When i cut the tape off, out popped the perfect cilinders. I had to make an effort to make the edges ragged so they looked more like curls.

its gorgeous.... the roses must have taken you forever, they are a very pretty shade of pink and so dainty.... do you have a special technique for these small roses? gorgeous as always

Both cakes are just beautiful, I am just learning to use gum paste, I hope I can do half as good as you have done! Great Job!!

So it's the chocolate queen again. You do so amazing work Nati. Will have to try the choco cylinders. They look great. Love working with chocolate even though not always successful.

Absolutely stunning!!! I can appreciate how you like the one on the left. While the one on the right is still breathe taking.......sometimes less is more. Regardless.........they both are so pretty.

both are beautiful...myself i am drawn to the brides choice, though I normally go for minimalist designs... something about the color of the ribbon just enhances the cake. Great work! you are a master!
