Kell77’s royal icing work is beautiful. I love to see cakemakers trying their hand at traditional techniques and this cake is a lovely example of that. The swans are absolutely beautiful.

I was so excited to see this fashion-inspired cake by rooneygirl on the homepage! She did an excellent job of capturing the avant-garde details of Alexander McQueen’s gown, and I love the touch of femininity that the wafer paper flowers add. It looks like it came straight from the pages of our 2013 FASHION ISSUE!

The fashion of the world’s royalty is brimming with inspiration for cakemakers, and I love how sevacha drew inspiration from the dramatic and opulent Marie Antoinette. To me, this cake is perfectly balanced in structure, and also has a beautiful blend of crisp, clean surfaces alongside luxuriously ornate accents.
