Jackie’s Pick - CEO & Founder of Cake Central Media Corp.

Cakemaker: Trudy Mitchell (JellyCake)
Inspired by Zuhair Murad
V4, I9, pg. 96

I adore this pared down version of Zuhair Murad’s beautiful, over-the-top and glamourous gown.  Trudy was able to capture the brilliant elements of hand-woven sequins and beads in a more simplified way, and the end result is a supremely sophisticated cake that has mass appeal.

Leanne’s Pick – President of Cake Central Media Corp.

Cakemaker: Julie Eslinger (Slinger)
Inspired by Patricia Avendano
V4, I9, pg. 42

This cake is striking, vibrant and incredible on it’s own, but when side by side with the inspiration dress, it is fascinating. I love how Julie Eslinger captures elements of the gold satin, floral pattern, and stunning fascinator in her cake. The way she surrounded the cake in a bed of jewels even mimics the jewels on the belt of the dress— absolutely beautiful and so creative.

Kari’s Pick – Associate Editor of Cake Central Magazine

Cakemaker: Ellen Redmond (SplendorCakes)
Inspired by Giambattista Valli
V4, I9, pg. 137

Ellen Redmond’s gilded, feminine creation is a perfectly unique rendition of the Valli dress. The gold and bronze blossoms and tasteful, clean design echo the garment while standing alone as their own work of fine art.

Alyssa’s Pick – Associate Editor of Cake Central Magazine

Cakemaker: Jacquee Stephens (Jaqs)
Inspired by Antonio Berardi
V4, I9, pg. 52

The Antonio Berardi dress that this cake was inspired by is one of my favorite creations of the 2013 runways. Cakemaker Jacquee Stephens did an amazing job transforming this piece of couture into a fresh, shimmering sugar creation. This cake reminds me of turquoise jewelry, an intricate mosaic and a tropical sea all at the same time.

Grace’s Pick – Associate Editor of Cake Central Magazine

Cakemaker: Kendra Hicks (kendra_83)
Inspired by Valentino
V4, I9, pg. 88

This design demonstrates both Kendra Hicks’ technical skill, and her creativity. Her hand painting cleanly and simply captures the boldness of Valentino, while the pop of turquoise and metallic accents infuse the design with flair. I absolutely love it!
