Stacked Cake For 11Th Birthday.
My daughter helped decorate her cake. She wanted a sherbet colored cake. Mini cakes 2", 3" and 4" on top of 8" round (mini pans from current catalog). Decorations are MMF, some were painted with icing color/vanilla extract mix. Icing is not as smooth as I was hoping for, couldn't get the consistency right. Thanks for looking.

Spider Man Birthday Cake
This was supposed to be a 3 tier cake for my DS's 6th bday, but I got too nervous to put the 3rd tier on top. It's WASC with oreo buttercream filling and BC icing. It's my first tiered cake that uses straws as supports. The Spiderman candle goes on top of the 2 tier cake. I need more practice with piping and writing smoothly, but this is the best I could do under the circumstances (at my mom's house, with high heat and humidity and several people watching me in a very crowded kitchen).

Daughter's Cake For The "spring Fling" Cake Contest
Chocolate cake with buttercream icing, M&M's and sprinkles. This pan is an old Wilton pan that was passed down by my Grandma. It's called the mini-3 tier pan and it uses one cake mix. She wanted to add so many things (like fondant figures--LOL) but we didn't have time. We had 2 days notice and it was a terribly busy week. It was a learning experience on how NOT to get crumbs in your icing.

Wilton Course 1 Practice Cake #2
Single layer 8 in lemon cake, torted/filled with lemon curd, lemon BC icing. I added lemon curd to the BC to thin & flavor it, but it's obviously too thin--you can see through it--lol! Instead of the Wilton clowns, I opted to practice the dots and swirl flowers in class. My kids are terrified of clowns, so I don't plan to use them anyway. I need lots of practice!!! Also should've used my Magic Line pan with the nice straight sides. This was a cheapo pan w/slanted sides.

Happy Valentine's Day--Wilton Course 1 Practice Cake
My class opted to do Valentine's cakes instead of the rainbow cake or character pans. Duncan Hines choc. fudge cake, torted and filled with seedless raspberry jam, with Wilton class one icing in chocolate and vanilla. One recipe of choc. icing just barely covered the cake, but I didn't have time to make a second recipe of chocolate. Fortunately the shell border covers most of the bare patches! This is so much fun!!! I used Melvira's roller and parchment to try to get a smooth finish. Need practice!

White Cake With Raspberry Buttercream, Chocolate Transfer House
This is my first chocolate transfer! It needs lots of work...my piping is so shaky, and I should have chosen a smaller image to copy. We were celebrating our 3rd anniversary of buying our home, so I made a little cake. It's just a 9 in. vanilla cake, torted and filled with raspberry seedless preserves, and house buttercream from the WBH with raspberry preserves added. My first time torting a cake too. It's pretty fun! I hope to take Wilton I soon, but my family really doesn't like cake! What to do?

Train Cake From 2004 For My Ds's 3Rd Bday
Lots of room for improvement!!! I don't think I'll ever use chocolate sprinkles again because they look like mouse poop. LOL! Anyway, I was aiming for it to look like grass and dirt. I should have made train tracks. It's just a plain old cake with buttercream. Actually, I think it was an egg-free cake (due to his allergy), which is really crumbly. Thank goodness he outgrew that allergy. Now I can bake whatever I want.

Cupcake Bouquet For Daughter's 7Th Bday Family Party
Every year for DD's bday our family goes camping. Every year it's a hassle to figure out a cake that travels well, so we tried a cupcake bouquet. We got the idea from the Wilton forum. The holder is a bunch of plastic 5 oz. cups stapled together with a little bit of cake ruffle around the bottom. Cake mix with buttercream swirled icing, blue spray and sprinkles.

Under The Sea Cake For Daughter's 6Th Bday In 2004
DD chose an ocean theme cake several years in a row. It's in the cake pan because we were taking it camping. The sea creatures, rocks and shells are creme savers candies, gummi worms, starburst formed into fish, goldfish crackers (gross!) and buttercream icing. I made a little treasure chest out of hersheys bars and frosting, but the picture isn't good. I've learned a lot from CC since then! But this was really fun for the kids to pick off their favorite candies. The dolphins are a magnet.

Race Track Cake For My Ds's 4Th Birthday
This is a cake made from scratch from a special egg-free recipe (he has an allergy). It wouldn't come out of the pan, so I decorated it in the pan. (Now I know about using cake release and parchment paper to line the pan). Buttercream icing, cookie crumbs for the dirt.
