Cake Central Magazine Fashion Issue - Ralph & Russo Inspired Cake By Rococo Cakes
This cake is inspired by Look 23 from the Ralph & Russo Spring/Summer 2016 Couture Collection – such a gorgeous dress to work from! I also took inspiration from the Pantone Colours of the Year – rose quartz and serenity blue. The rather extravagant peony seemed the perfect flower to harmonize with this dress, with its ruffly petals mirroring the organic curves of the flounces. It is surrounded by metallic blue leaves with a gold iridescence (which is sadly difficult to capture on camera!). It was such an honour and a thrill to have my cake featured in Cake Central Magazine! Iris Stained Glass Cake
I adore purple and yellow irises, so really enjoyed making this cake. It uses techniques from Alexandria Pellegrino's "Simple Skills for Dramatic Designs" Craftsy class. I added the fleur-de-lys because it is a stylised iris or lily. More photos are on my website here: www.rocococakes.co.uk/iris-stained-glass-cake.html

Croquet
This is a representation of the Queen of Heart's croquet game from Alice in Wonderland, in biscuit form. The croquet mallets are flamingos, the balls are hedgehogs and the hoops are bent over playing cards. On the cake stand are some refreshments for when the game is over :-) . All decorations are royal icing, except for the playing card hoops which are flowerpaste. Hope you like them! :-D

21St Birthday Cake Inspired By Russian Zhostovo Trays The Central Panel Is Handpainted And Is Framed By Gold Royal Icing On The Top Is
21st birthday cake, inspired by Russian Zhostovo trays. The central panel is handpainted, and is framed by gold royal icing. On the top is a floral spray incorporating honeysuckle and holly, with small blossoms mirroring those on the painting. This is my first double-barrel cake and also my first attempt at panelling with fondant for covering the cake. Hope you like it!
