Fondant Wedding Cake With Pink Roses
This three-tier cake (12", 9", and 6") was my first fondant wedding cake. The draping is all fondant (not 50/50), with a fondant bead border, and gum paste roses, leaves, and stephanotis. I just completed this as the final project in a wedding cake class I took this winter (3/13). I was happy with how it turned out and love knowing that I can do this!

Sam The Snowman Cake
From the TV special, Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer. About 16" tall from base to top of hat, the figure of Sam's body is made from cake, and his head is made of rice krispy treat, and it's all fondant covered, sitting on a base cake covered in buttercream. The details are made from fondant or gumpaste.

Halloween Pumpkin Cake With Leaves And Curly Vines
This Halloween pumpkin-shaped cake is made from three round layers that are filled, carved into a basic pumpkin shape, and then thickly iced in pale orange buttercream made with Sweetex. Then, a small piece of flexible plastic, that's been cut to look scalloped like a bat's wing, is repeatedly drawn upward from the bottom of the cake to create the "seams" in the sides of the pumpkin. The entire iced cake is then airbrushed to create the variations in color, with a darker shade in those seams to create depth. The stem, curly vines, and leaves are all made from olive green fondant that was shaped, dried, and then airbrushed. The acorns are tan colored fondant "caps" placed on chocolate kisses.

High School Swim Team Banquet Cake
Cake I made for my son's high school swim team banquet. The team is called the Bears, thus the big paw print, which is hard and made out of colorflow. This is a thick, two layer, 16" round chocolate cake, filled with white buttercream. The little stars on the sides are made from fondant, cut out with a whimsical star shape cookie cutter. I painted all of the boys' names on the stars using a tiny paintbrush and blue paste food color mixed with vodka. Used blue airbrushing on the sides of cake and lightly on top border. Used lots of lustre dust to give the top of the cake have some sparkle.
