Strictly Come Dancing / Dancing With The Stars Birthday Cake
Here in the Uk Strictly Come Dancing has just started again and my friend loves salsa dancing so I designed this birthday cake for her. It is a vanilla cake with coffee flavoured syrup and dark chocolate filling and dark chocolate ganache exterior. The frills are made from fondant and I love them so much I think I will have to use them more. The topper is made with gumpaste coloured pink an dusted with sparkles. The dancer silhouettes were located via google images. I cut them out of fondant with a knife.

Dr Who Dalek Cake
Dr Who's arch nemesis, Dalek cake for an 18th Birthday. It is 16" tall and made from a 6" wide dome on top with a tapered 9" base. The cake is vanilla raspberry and is filled with jam and buttercream. I covered the cake in more buttercream and finally in fondant. Everything is made from fondant and the only non edible items used are internal dowels and boards for structure. It was tough covering the base and I ended up using a wrap around method.

Anemone And Fan Birthday Cake
This cake was made for my Auntie's birthday. It is a chocolate orange 8" round covered in mint green fondant and piped with royal icing. The anemone and fan are made from gumpaste and hand painted. This was my first go at piping with ri and I am quite pleased with it. The cake is a lovely shade of pale green but I couldn't get the lighting right to capture the true colour, it looks blue in these photos.

French Regency Inspired Birthday Cake
This is my 7th decorated cake. It is a 9 inch round white chocolate cake with Chambord syrup and white chocolate ganache filling. I love the Regency period and tried to reference this in the design of this cake. I love the muted colours and the hints of gold. The roses are molded from flower paste. It was a birthday cake for a friend who gave me free reign and she loved it so I am a happy bunny.

Fairytale Princess Castle Cake
This cake was a 3 tiered fondant covered cake for my neice's Christening. The bottom cake was an 11" square, vanilla cake with strawberry cream filling. 2nd tier was a round 9" st clements cake and the tall top layer was 6, 2" layers of chocolate cake with cherry syrup and white chocolate ganache filling. Decorated fully with fondant details. My first tiered cake. It was terrifying getting to the venue and such a relief that it survived the journey!

Birthday Mini Cakes
I made these for a friend for her Birthday. They are 3" cakes covered in pale pink fondant with gumpaste rosette, butterfly, daisies and bow. I accented the cakes with piped RI lines, pearls and cornelli lace. This was my 5th attempt at decorating and I love them but my piping skils need some work. Wonky lines and pointy pearls! lol.

Birdcage Birthday Cake
This was a cake I made for my Mum's 60th Birthday. It is based on a design by Zoe Clark from the lovely book "Cake Decorating at Home". Zoes design was a bit simpler but my Mum loves intricate designs so I made it a little busier than Zoe did. It is all edible and covered in fondant and gumpaste birds, butterflies and flowers. This was the 3rd cake I decorated so any feedback would be appreciated. I dont have a full kit of cake tools so sometimes have to improvise. Total newbie but hoping to improve.

F1 Redbull Team Car
This was made for my cousin's 16th Birthday. It is all cake with the wheels made from RKT. Everything except the wheel axels is edible. This is my most recent cake, 1st carved 3d and the 4th cake I have ever decorated as I am a total newbie to this. Any feedback would be greatly appreciated as I am self taught. I think that I need a scalpel or exacto knife to get cleaner cuts on the fondant shapes as these were doen with a regular kitchen knife.
