Red Velvet Cupcakes With Cinnamon Cream Cheese Frosting
Or what I call Not So Red Red Velvet, because I don't add any food coloring. So really its a buttermilk cake with a could tablespoons of cocoa, but not enough to make taste chocolaty. The frosting is cream cheese but with a 1/4 teas cinnamon, totally addicting.

Lemon Almond Cupcakes
These are terrible. Okay so their delicious, but I have to lie to myself so I don't make them too often. The icing is Swiss Buttercream, yum! The cake is a simple oil and buttermilk cake, but made with almond oil and lemon zest. Some are decorated with almond slivers and lemon heads.

Two Tier Wedding Cake
This was my second wedding cake, from two years ago. I can't believe how much I have learned since then. I take something away from each cake I make! Double ring topper provided by bride, flowers are from my garden. I have another square cake to do in May, grooms cake this time. I plan to by straight sided cake pans and I will be using Italian Buttercream instead of American (crisco/butter) Buttercream.

Tulip Birthday Cake
This was my mom's birthday cake, yes I even put her age on it, bad me. The cake is Lemon Hazelnut with fresh lemon curd filling, covered in Italian Buttercream flavored with lemon curd. I made the tulips with gumpaste and handpainted them. They dried shiny and got a few bubbles because I sped up the drying by putting them in a low temperature. If left out to dry they will have a duller more watercolor look. This cake was very moist and delicious. The Hazelnut flavor is from Hazelnut oil and is worth the cost!

Cupcake Butterfly
I tried to make butterfly wings with some left over royal icing. It was thin as I used it to flood cookies, but I thought the wings turned out cute. I will definitely try this again with thicker royal icing. The cupcakes are Red Velvet with Cinnamon Cream Cheese Frosting as seen on Joy the Bakers website.

Graduation Cake
Lots of sugar flowers! And a failed execution of a white chocolate graduation cap. This cake is 8 inches in diameter and is 6 layers of orange cake made with Mandarin oranges. The cake is filled with alternating fillings of homemade orange curd and whipped cream with crushed pineapple. The frosting is cooked icing made by cooking milk and flour together and adding it too whipped butter and sugar, flavored with vanilla and orange extract. Yummy! This was made for my sister when she graduated high school.

My First Wedding Cake
This is my very first "real" wedding cake. I made a few as a kid for fake weddings. Yes I was that girl, but I was never the bride! :) This cake was made for a good friend. Inside is Lemon cake with cream cheese frosting. Outside is American Buttercream with both lemon and vanilla flavors. Each tier had three layers. Bottom 10 inches, middle 8 inches top 6 inches. Fresh flowers added, the lavender was from my neighbor. Also the cake made a 7 hour trip from NC to VA in July. Lets just say it melted a little... :)

Sweet 16 Cake
This was a huge cake. Bottom tier 10 inches top 6, both tier was 4 layers of dark devils food filled with tart cherry perserves. Iced with American Buttercream (nastiness before I learned how to make Italian). The frosting is shiny due to sweat, because I refrigerated it over night before it made a 2.5 hour trip to my little sisters birthday part. Poor cake did get a few cracks around the top layer. But my sister loved it so thats all that matters! Also the flowers were fresh and I paid more for them than the ingredients of the cake, crazy? Yes...stupid florist. ;)

Red Velvet Cupcakes
These are my number 2 requested items (right behind banana) I typically make them without any coloring and call them Not So Red Red Velvet Cake, but for my moms birthday I added bright pink. The frosting is amazing, a yummy combo of cream cheese and hint of cinnamon. I decorated the cupcakes with a swirl of frosting and a blue royal icing flower (frosting was too soft to keep shape). I stacked them on white milk glass cake plates, my "tower" wasn't fully aligned, totally didn't realize it until I was looking at the pictures.

Banana Cream Cheese Birthday Ring Cake
Made this for my two baby sisters, they share a birthday month (poor things) so they shared a cake. I frosted a banana bundt with cream cheese frosting and decorated it with daisy gumpaste flowers I made in advance. Bananas make incredible cakes, my most popular request!

Chocolate Peanut Butter Birthday Cake
This cake is from the Sky High Irresistible Triple Layer Cakes cookbook. I totally recommend the cake, it is a great Dark Nearly Black color, not super chocolaty, so I add a few drops of chocolate flavored oil (candy flavoring) and make it with weak coffee instead of water. The frosting is cream cheese and peanut butter, for someone who likes peanut butter it is awesome! On the too sweet side for me, but I'm an Italian Buttercream fan.

18Th Birthday Zebra Polka Dot Cake
This cake was my first time using black frosting. I made a chocolate frosting from chocolate and heavy cream added dark cocoa powder and Americolor Super Black. The rest of the cake is covered in Italian Buttercream (vanilla) and the cake itself is Dark Chocolate with White Chocolate Ganache filling. Fresh flowers were added to give the cake its "party" feel. For anyone who comments please let me know which way you prefer the cake Flowers or No? :) Thanks!
