Thomas Meets Lightning Mcqueen
This is for my son's 3rd birthday today. Thanks to mandirombold for her help in determining how to cut the cakes to get the shape for this! I started with two 9-inch rounds, since we aren't having a big party and don't need much cake. I experimented a bit and used a stabilized whipped icing...and learned that's not a good idea when you want to decorate a cake with fondant pieces. LOL! Had to scrape off the bleeding fondant blacktop and train tracks and replace it with some leftover BC I had in the fridge. Not my neatest or best work, but my son loves it and that's what matters to me today. The cake is snickerdoodle (a doctored white cake mix) and is super yummy. TFL!

Hello Kitty Purse Cake
Chocolate purse with chocolate mousse filling on top of a vanilla cake. I'm still struggling with fondant - the bottom of the purse is awful - thank goodness for zebra stripes! I'm ready to try a different shape for the purse and to get more details - like zippers and buckles.

Pink And Black Zebra Stripe Purse With Anemone Flower
This is my second attempt at a purse cake and had some carving issues. My cake was just way too crumbly so I didn't get to carve as much as I'd planned. It's lumpy under the fondant in places and the details are not as clean as I'd like, but I learn with each one I do. The birthday girl was thrilled and totally surprised by the design which was all that matters. The cake itself is dark chocolate amaretto with chocolate mousse filling and amaretto chocolate BC, covered in Satin Ice. TFL!!

Backyard Bbq - With Grill And Apron
This was for our summer party at work. Backyard BBQ was the theme as we grilled burgers and dogs. I didn't have time to add utensils, but I was pretty happy with how it turned out. The sheetcake is 2 12x18s (one chocolate, one vanilla) put side by side and covered in vanilla BC and fondant apron. The grill and lid are chocolate cake - made in the Wilton sports ball pan - covered in fondant. Still getting used to working with fondant. Inspired by many grill cakes I've seen here on CC! Thanks.

Black And Red Purse
My first purse cake. It's more blocky than I'd like and it's missing a strap, but I wasn't sure exactly how I wanted to attach it...maybe I'll get to it tomorrow before it gets cut. The cake is peanut butter with ganache and peanut butter BC and covered in Satin Ice fondant. I painted it all with vodka to try to get it to look shiny, it was still drying when I took the picture. TFL! Pattie

Toy Story - Woody
Design totally lifted from several excellent cakes here on CC. Top cake is chocolate, bottom 2 are vanilla. All filled with oreo cookies and cream and frosted with BC. Topper is purchased, all other decorations are fondant and gumpaste. Thanks for looking and thanks for inspiring me fellow CC cakers!
